Looking to trade Batman Arkham Knight in for cash?

Batman Arkham Knight is the 4th and final game in the Batman Arkham series. It is published by Warner Bros. Interactive and developed by Rocksteady Studios. It is a third-person action combat/stealth game which has some fantastic use of the Detective Mode from the previous games.

For fans of the series it is much more of the same game. This time around there is a fantastic twist that shows the frailty of Batman throughout the game – and by far this is the most enjoyable part of the game and provides some incredible moments. Stay away from YouTube and other sites – don’t let yourself get spoiled! Scarecrow is the main villain for the story but most of the focus of the game is on the Arkham Knight and his identity. Together they have gathered Batman’s foes to finally get rid of him once and for all.

The game itself has some really good strong points…

As always the Voice Acting and story is really good (if in this case a little predictable), it looks incredible on whatever platform you choose to play on and all of the previous mechanics have been improved and given more depth with no exceptions. The City is open, huge and has no loading times in-between. It feels like a living, breathing city and with Batman’s grapple you’ll be soaring over it all the time.

The Bat-Mobile makes an appearance and it feels great.

However these segments are heavily overused and for the majority of the game you will be destroying the Arkham Knight’s “Drone” vehicles. The Bat-Mobile is very agile and feels really responsive. At first you’ll love the thing and I found myself roaming around Gotham in it. However after the 3rd or 4th scripted fight with the “Drones” this really starts to become a drag and is very overused. A few less battles with the Bat-Mobile would’ve really made this more enjoyable.

The Riddler’s sections throughout the game are great and again make you think. The puzzles are nice break from the rest of the game and really help break it up. The other miscellaneous challenges such as the Races and the combat ones make a welcome addition.

Unfortunately the Villains are not the games strongpoint. It could’ve been very interesting to be able to explore the enemies of Batman a little deeper, looking into their history. However they are forced into Side-missions and never make a real appearance. Although the story this time around is good, it is definitely one of the weaker of the series, however don’t let that fool you, this game is still a very enjoyable experience.
